HRI and Multiteria Work with Klondike Elementary School to Update Their Serving Line

Hershey ElementaryKlondike Elementary’s food service director needed to replace the existing server to increase efficiency, participation and provide visual impact for their food service program. The existing serving lines didn’t have any flexibility. There were 4 hot wells and no cold wells, consequently they had to keep their fruit in a reach-in or set out on a utility table. Plus the old units sneeze guards were all stainless and cumbersome, blocking the vision of students and food service staff. Originally a frost top was considered by the food service director but it didn’t offer enough flexibility.

Multiteria to the rescue.

Hershey-2The Essence series was recommended to provide the flexibility, durability and aesthetic appeal that the food service director was looking for. Set up was extremely easy, the new serving line features Corian tray slides, s/s tops, powder coated sneeze guards and an 8” work ledge. 4 wells convertible from hot to cold and a 3 well cold counter that provides the flexibility needed in planning menu options. Setting up a self serve cold menu item one day and an operator service for the hot food items through a pass through on other days. Hershey Elementary School now has a great looking serving line that provides better flow, efficiency and showcases the new menu options beautifully. Food quality improved because the hot foods are hot and cold foods are held at the proper serving temperature.
